About New York Fiscal Watch

This website was created by the Manhattan Institute and its senior fellow for tax and budgetary studies, E. J. McMahon, to monitor the finances of New York City and New York State governments. Our purpose is to dig beneath the headlines and to unravel the layers of technical complexity that often obscure the truth about taxing and spending policies in the two New Yorks.
